Keeping in view the pains of suffering society, Sophie Public Welfare Society was Sophie Jan Kalyan Samiti established in 1988 under Section 21 of Societies Act 1860 in the presence of some senior reputed citizens.

The society is based on the ideals of Mother Teressa. The main object of Sophie Jan Kalyan Samiti is to serve the suffering society. The ideal of “Sarve Bhavantu Sukhinah” (happiness to all) is the main source of our inspiration. The society is going ahead under the efficient direction of it’s efficient Office Bearer Dr. Ernest Sharon. A number of social activities have been successfully conducted in so many districts of U. P. with the cooperation of Central/State Govt. and this has to be extended throughout the country. The Society could achieve this respectable position in the state merely due to the hard labour and dedication of it’s chief executive.

Rural development is today’s need. To ensure the availability of pure and safe drinking water in the rural areas of the state , is the prime necessity of the day. Rural population has been dependent or involved directly or indirectly, on the natural resources of water storage. Adequate precaution is needed to establish and inspire their acumen. The society has felt that in future water problem is going to be serious , as such , society has decided to participate in the programme of rural drinking water availability, water sheds, and supply of drinking water in villages which is pure and clean as per required standard which is very essential for the society.

From the ancient times our natural resources are well known for their beauty and generosity. Public awareness is very much necessary to keep our earth away from pollution so that not only human beings but all the creatures on the earth may get at least fresh air, without which no life can be thought of. So let’s take a vow to keep our neighbouring environment clean .

Good health is an important achievement of any person or nation. The latest report of All India Institute reveals that after every 20 minutes a baby takes birth in India with “down syndrome” , which is a disease that obstructs the mental as well as physical growth of the body. Therefore health camps are very essential for life, so that the whole of the society may be benefited.

Today whole of the world is in the grip of Aids. To check this monster of Aids, it’s essential to organize Aids Camps. Cancer patients are also increasing due to lack of awareness. With immediate treatment freedom from cancer is possible but still due to lack of awareness and confusion , it is being taken as incurable disease. Efforts should be made to overcome this fatal disease.

Our young generation on whom rests the future of our country, is standing on the brink of disaster due to the increasing intoxicating habits. Even children are found involved in it . This has aggravated the gravity of the problem. Thus young generation is being misguided due to intoxication and feel themselves away from the main stream. Therefore Intoxication Eradication Camps are very much in our national interest.

Children are the legacy of our nation and if they are not given even the right of getting food, what will be the fate of our nation . Therefore Child labour schools / rehabilitation centres are very much needed in the interest of the society. In U.P. only 2.5 % people use toilets and this is much lower to the national percentage. Therefore the object of this programme is to uplift the living standard of villagers through sanitation movement, which will ultimately lead to clean environment. The society is ensuring the construction of public toilets to facilitate the villagers under this scheme .

Dr. Ernest Sharon
Secretary

It has been a long and tedious struggle. It seems just yesterday when the vision for these endeavours and commitment for a cause, started building up slowly towards a goal in uplifting the society, educating the masses, putting a sense of hope in the minds of the deprived and marginalized. Reaching to eradicate disease and famine. Reviving the moral values of peace, love and friendship. Instilling hope in their God, the omnipotent Messiah of the poor and underprivileged. The hope of the hopeless Instilling a sense of dignity in labour amongst the deprived and rationalised.

It is a dedicated team of few like minded individuals, who took up this yoke, to bring in this revival of hope to a world lost to its infirmities of soul and body, blissfully unaware of ths Samaritans of this world. Our outreach programs, have benefited thousands in the past one decade of fiery trial.

I wish to extend my grateful thanks to the "Samaratians" of this world, many of whom are the torchbearers of our team in SJKS Give me a few dedicated social Samaritians and I could make this world a better place to live in the years to come. Give me a few Like minded Philanthropists and together we can remove all the social evils from our society, money could not be utilised for a better cause then this, that we help remove human suffering from this Planet and may our conscience be our guide and mentor.
